Graphic Conservation has been in the business of conserving works of art on paper since 1982. Our well-balanced team of conservators works together on many projects.

We specifically round out the various specialties and expertise of our staff, so that we can be prepared to handle any kind of paper conservation project our clients bring to us.

Conservators:

Working on EscherWilliam P. Crusius founded Graphic Conservation with his partner, Robert J. Weinberg, in January 1982. A Fellow with the American Institute for Conservation (AIC), William has over 50 years of experience as a conservator of books and unbound works of art on paper. He was employed as a conservator with R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company from 1949 to 1982. He has taught several workshops for conservators at the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies.

Christina workingChristina Marusich, co-owner, joined Graphic Conservation in 1987. A Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC), she recieved her B.F.A. in printmaking and painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and studied chemistry at Roosevelt University in Chicago. She served as co-program chair of the Chicago Area Conservation Group. She has taught a workshop for conservators at the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies.

Margo working.Margo Powell, co-owner, joined Graphic Conservation in 1993. A Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC), she received her B.A. in history from Washington University in St. Louis and has studied studio art and chemistry. She is a member of the Chicago Area Conservation Group.

Sharon working in lab.Sharon Paschke joined our staff in 1996. She is completing her studies at DePaul University in Chicago. In addition to her position at Graphic Conservation, Ms. Paschke owns a business specializing in the photography of fine art. She is a member of the Chicago Area Conservation Group.

Sharon working in lab.Roman Bolks joined our staff in 2002. He received a B.A. from Columbia College with extensive experience in the visual and performing arts. He is a member of the Chicago Area Conservation Group.

 

Consultants:

Robert J. Weinberg, co-founder of Graphic Conservation Company with William Crusius, is an elected Fellow of the American Institute for Conservation with 27 years of experience as a conservator of art on paper. Weinberg has recently retired, but continues to work with Graphic Conservation as a consultant.

Mary Wood Lee is a Fellow of the American Institute for Conservation. She worked at Graphic Conservation Company from 1986 until she was named the Director of the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, in 1989. Campbell Center offers a program of mid-career training for those in the museum, library, archives, and historic preservation fields. Ms. Lee is an acting consultant for the Graphic Conservation Company.
