AFTER: The portrait on vellum was removed from the original wooden strainer. The old repairs and adhesive were mechanically removed from the back. The tear was repaired and losses filled with Japanese tissue and PVA adhesive. The staining was improved mechanically. The losses were filled with pastel to match the surrounding area.
